Berlin. The corona pandemic in Germany continues to subside. On Wednesday, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported a nationwide seven-day incidence of 281.8 per 100,000 inhabitants per week (previous day 307.2). The institute put the number of new infections at 49,141. Experts assume that the data does not reflect the actual course of infection.
In view of the situation, however, politicians and scientists do not want to give the all-clear during the pandemic. The Bremen epidemiologist Hajo Zeeb recently called for good preparation for possible new corona variants in autumn. A combination of delta and omicron or a completely new variant could occur, Zeeb said in an interview with the Evangelisches Pressedienst (epd).

Curevac still struggles with failed vaccine costs
