Coolblue only has 180 PS5 consoles and is raffling off pre-orders via competition

Coolblue has received so few PlayStation 5 consoles that they are organizing a competition. The winners can order one.

95414 people have a PlayStation 5 in their wish list on Coolblue, as can be read on a screen in the new video from Coolblue. Only a few of those people can actually place an order, because Coolblue has only received 180 copies. Today at Coolblue they have broken heads about the fairest solution to tackle this problem of supply and demand.

“We can put it on pre-order, but then two minutes later the website will be black,” says CEO Pieter Zwart in a playful video. With this he refers to the pre-orders of the Xbox Series X, that were so popular that the Coolblue website went offline. “We can auction it, but that’s not fair.” And getting people to come to the store is certainly not a solution in corona time.

Coolblue therefore comes with a playful solution. You can take a photo of your shoe via the Coolblue app. So stick a tasty carrot in it, take a nice photo of it and submit it via the app. Sinterklaas chooses a few good children. If you win the competition, you can order a copy of the console. Each participant must also promise that he will not whine when it appears that he has not won.
