Mandalika Circuit predicted to be the location of the race MotoGP like heaven in the future because of the natural conditions and the quality of the race track it has.
This was revealed by the General Manager of Roadgrip Motorsport Indonesia (RMI), Simon Gardini while talking to Kompas and CNNIndonesia.com in the circuit paddock area on Sunday (20/3) night.
“[Sirkuit Mandalika] have great places to go and have good tracks like heaven. This is the coolest thing in the future,” Gardini said with a smile.
“You know, we had some challenges between weather, light, race and track, but still a big crowd today. Everyone enjoyed and a great race, although we had a bit of a race delay due to the weather,” he said.
Gardini recommends that the asphalt of the Mandalika Circuit track be completely re-paved. The reason was that some of the tracks had to be re-asphalted, as Dorna wanted, after the pre-season test in February.
With maximum workmanship, not being rushed by time, Gardiri believes that the quality of asphalt will be number one. The condition of the circuit is also believed to be greener and more beautiful and will be organized in the next event in 2023.
“We hold the highest level of motorcycle racing in the world and you know it is challenging everywhere. It is very difficult to produce good tolerances. You also have to find local products which is also a challenge,” he said.
“I don’t believe there is a track that has never been in trouble after a race. This work should have taken longer, but that’s the challenge we face and calculate everything we have to go through, but it will be perfect,” said Gardini.
The second series of MotoGP 2022 has been completed at the Mandalika Circuit on Sunday (20/3). Miguel Oliveira came out to be the champion of the race this time. This race was delayed due to heavy rain that flushed after Moto2.
