Gridhot.ID – Enter time New Normal does not mean corona just disappeared.
People are already allowed to do activities but still must comply with the health protocols applied.
One of the things that appears to be strict with these rules is barista this one.
A Starbucks barista, Lenin Gutierrez got tips hundreds of millions of rupiah after refusing to serve customers who do not wear masks in the middle of the corona pandemic.
As reported by HAI from UNILAD, it all started when the customer in question, Amber Lynn, complained that her complaints were not served well when buying coffee at the Starbucks shop where Lenin worked.
Rejected from being served just because he didn’t use a mask, Amber immediately expressed her dissatisfaction through her Facebook account.
“Look at Lenin, a barista from Starbucks who refuses to serve me because I don’t wear a mask,” he wrote in a post that Amber has now removed.

Amber Lynn’s post about Lenin

Before being deleted, the article invited the attention of thousands of Facebook users, where they defended Lenin and blamed Amber for not wearing a mask in the midst of the current pandemic.
Until then, a netizen named Matt Cowan opened a donation on the GoFundMe site for Lenin because the barista, one of the Starbucks stores in the San Diego area, refused to serve customers who didn’t use masks.
Collected nearly 28 thousand US dollars (around Rp. 397 million) in just three days, the money was then given to Lenin as tips.
“Thank you all for the tips !!! I hope you stay safe,” wrote Lenin to those who appreciated his actions.
Fyi, the San Diego government itself does require its citizens to wear masks when in public places.
Therefore, Lenin’s actions to refuse to serve customers without masks are appropriate, especially in the midst of a pandemic like now.
