On the second Easter, April 5, at At 19.00, the Easter concert of the chamber choir “Ave Sol” will be shown on the television channel “ReTV” in the Riga Dome Cathedral “Resurrection”, informed the representative of the Association of Cultural Institutions of Riga Municipality Vineta Žilinska.
Easter is an important Christian holiday when the resurrection of Christ after the crucifixion is commemorated. The liturgical color of Easter is white, which symbolizes light, clarity and joy – it is a day of joy. In accordance with this mood, the Riga Chamber Choir “Ave Sol” and its artistic director Andris Veismanis will offer a conceptually well-thought-out concert program “Resurrection”.
“The compositions of the concert program can be described in two words – musical exaltation. The works are rooted in religious writings and cover a wide range of topics, such as Peter Wax’s existential “Don Nobis Pacem” or Arvo Perth’s genealogical circle (tree) – “Which Was The Son”. It was a great pleasure to include in the program such diverse but beautiful sacred works of Latvian composers, which sound especially fulfilled in the Riga Dome Church, ”says conductor Andris Veismanis about the concert program.
In the concert, the outstanding artist and organist Aigars Reinis will sit at the Riga Dome organ. The most significant solo parts will be entrusted to the leading soloists of the Riga Chamber Choir “Ave Sol”. Conductors – artistic director Andris Veismanis and Jurģis Cābulis.
