In addition to the Arbor Day event, the major events of the Forestry Bureau in March every year also take this opportunity to praise groups that have made contributions to forestry and affirm their dedication and efforts to forestry. In the “Water Resources Forest Living Circle” tree planting event co-organized by the ecological park, the communities with outstanding achievements in the 111 year community forestry plan were awarded. The winners were the Yong’an Community Development Association in Shiding District, New Taipei City, and the Biahao Tribe Sustainability in Nan’ao Township, Yixian County. Four communities including the Development Association, the Dakengwu Community Development Association of Suao Township, Yixian County, and the Tourism and Leisure Industry Development Association of Datong Township, Yilan County.

The Luodong Forest Management Office stated that the location of the Yongan Community Development Association in Shiding District used to be an important production area for Wenshan Baozhong tea. Because it is close to the “Feicui Reservoir Snake-eating Turtle Wildlife Sanctuary” in New Taipei City, snake-eating turtles are often found in the community. , the community residents feel that the conservation work is urgent. Under the call of the district chief Xiao Minling, they have been cooperating with the Forestry Bureau’s community forestry project since 110, and established the snake-eating turtle patrol team to protect the snake-eating turtle with practical actions. The successful curbing of illegal poaching has also re-identified the local residents and the children of Wing On who have emigrated to other places and built a consensus in the community, and was awarded a premium community.

In addition, Nan’ao Township Biahao Tribe Sustainable Development Association is composed of a group of Atayal aborigines who care about and love their homeland. Tribal members feel the importance of local traditional Atayal culture and wisdom inheritance. In the community forestry plan last year Focusing on the understanding and application of the traditional spice plant Cornus officinalis, hydrosol extraction, making handmade soap and mosquito repellent liquid, etc., to build the consensus of the tribe and make the tribe residents more deeply aware of the sustainable use of natural resources, which will be a characteristic industry for the development of the tribe in the future and the foundation of eco-tourism, so it won the honor of excellent community.
