According to Mathilde Thomassin, technical manager of CSMG Dieppe, this title rewards Laura Verel’s many hours of work in training.
And hop another medal!
And hop another title for CSMG Dieppe.
For several weeks, every weekend, there has been a competition and from the little chicks to the biggest, the gymnasts from Dieppe have climbed on all the podiums that come their way.
This was again the case last Saturday in Le Havre.
Laura Verel was the only representative of the club dear to Guy Roulland and she dropped out the interdepartmental title in the national division.
A member of the CSMG Dieppe pennant team which is aiming for qualification for the French championships (and even a medal), Laura Vérel is at the same time the only gymnast from Dieppe involved in the competition on an individual basis in the national division.
On each of her outings, she is therefore accompanied and encouraged by her friends and the least we can say is that she does not disappoint them.
After a fine performance that took her to the second step of the podium of the Seine-Maritime championshipsLaura Vérel did even better during the interdepartmental event.
“The reward for his work”
Modest, she did not want to announce a real goal, but she still succeeded a performance that pleased Mathilde Thomassin, technical manager of CSMG Dieppe
She had zero pressure and was just joking that she didn’t want to finish last. She still felt a little stressed and that’s normal when playing in the national division. Laura is a big hard worker who does and redo all her moves. I am happy with this title because she really deserves it and it is the reward for her work.
In Le Havre, the young Dieppoise obtained best marks on floor and beam although it can still improve the output at this apparatus.
She also has room for improvement on vault and bars, but did what was necessary to win the interdepartmental title.
However, she did not know it at the end of her performance because knowing that the ranking was very tight, Mathilde Thomassin did not tell her protege the result.
The explosion of joy was only stronger at the call of the podium.
Laura Vérel is therefore qualified for the regional level and a meeting on May 22 and 23 in Sotteville-lès-Rouen.
This weekend, following the individual events
This weekend, new competition for the CSMG Dieppe, already in Sotteville, with the individual interdepartments for the federal categories A and A2.
Ten Dieppoises will be in the running.
For Justine Savouray, Léa Ledrait and Oxanna Lecoq, it will be a question of approaching or aiming for the podium;
For the others, a good result is also expected, but it will also be a last full-scale rehearsal before the national semi-final the following weekend.
