Command & Conquer Remastered source code is provided

Electronic Arts publishes the source code of the “Command & Conquer Remastered Collection” for the modding community.

Jim Vessella, the lead producer of the “Command & Conquer Remastered Collection”, has a community update on Reddit in which he talks about a unique opportunity for the modding community. EA will publish “TiberianDawn.dll”, “RedAlert.dll” and the corresponding source code under the “GPL Version 3.0” license, which should make “Command & Conquer” one of the first major RTS game series whose source Code is provided to users in such a manner.

It says: “EA and the C&C Community Council have worked intensively to ensure compatibility with existing modding projects. The open source files will give prospective modders the opportunity to incorporate their own maps, units, assets and gameplay logic into the to incorporate Command & Conquer’s classic gaming experience.
