Comedy series Frasier returns to American television

The American channel CBS is going to make a sequel to Frasier, the successful television series about the adventures of the snobbish psychiatrist with its own radio show. Once again actor Kelsey Grammer stars as Dr. Frasier Crane.

Frasier is considered one of the most important American comedy programs of all time and was previously broadcast between 1993 and 2004. The comedy won a record number of 37 Emmy Awards and was also shown in the Netherlands.

Protagonist Grammer says in a press statement that he is looking forward to “a new chapter” in the life of his character. Frasier started in 1993 as a spin-off from the Cheers bar series.

The new series will be broadcast on Paramount +, the American pay-TV channel of CBS. According to the American channel, fans have been asking for the return of the hit series for years. It is not clear when the first broadcast is scheduled.

In recent years, more American series from the nineties have been continued. So got sitcoms Will & Grace in Roseanne new seasons in 2017 and 2018. Also Sex and the City returns this year, it was announced in January.
