Comedian Kim Byung-man Reveals His Journey to Becoming a Licensed Commercial Pilot

/Photo = MBN ‘It’s out! Comedian Kim Byung-man of ‘Captain Kim’ confessed that he obtained a CPL (commercial pilot’s license) through a crash six years ago.

Kim Byung-man appeared on MBN’s ‘Outing! I remembered the dizzying fall accident in 2017 in ‘Captain Kim’.

When asked, “Is there a reason you fell for the machine called an airplane while living with nature in the jungle?”, Kim Byung-man said, “I broke my back while skydiving in 2017. I felt like going crazy. I was so shocked. From then on, I started studying (for an airplane pilot’s license).”

He confessed, “At the time, I broke my back while flying solo after completing skydiving expert training in the US, and I was feeling great frustration.

Then, he explained, “If I do Kim Byung-man, it’s a slapstick comedy, but at the moment I thought, ‘Can I fly again?’, I thought, ‘Let’s try flying, which I’ve only dreamed of at a time when I can’t move like this.’ So, I started taking the exam at the hospital.”

He said, “Studying was so fun. I wondered why I didn’t study when I was in school. Aviation has it all. There are math, science, and meteorology. You also need to know the types of clouds.”
