Colors of the homeland “Hyperactivity” .. Discover new deadly dangers of shisha smoking

Scientists fear that smoking shisha may increase the risk of a heart attack or fatal stroke, and it is not as it is known to be considered “less harmful” because smoke passes through water before inhalation.

For the first time, research on mice has shown that smoking hookah makes blood cells become “hyperactive”, as experiments conducted by the University of Texas at American University found that rodent blood clots or clots five times faster than normal, according to the British newspaper “Daily Mail” .

Experts have not studied whether these strokes cause heart attack or strokes, but they are a known cause of fatal heart conditions by blocking the vessels.

“Smoking hookah is less harmful than cigarettes, however, hookah has a toxic image that is believed to be comparable or even more than traditional cigarettes,” said Dr. Fadi Khasawneh, co-author of the study.

“Our results provide new evidence that hookah smoke is unhealthy, if not more harmful, than conventional cigarettes,” he added.

Previous studies have indicated that hookah smoking threatens cardiovascular health, but this is the first study to demonstrate its effect on blood, and it was published in the Journal of the American Heart Association (ATVB).

Depending on where it is, the arteries caused by a blood clot can lead to a heart attack or stroke.

The researchers found during the study that blood clots took a minute and 12 seconds in rats exposed to smoking, compared to six minutes in healthy mice. They concluded that “hyperactivity” in platelets, caused by hookah smoke, was the reason for this abnormal rate.

The researchers stressed that although the mice are very small, the results also apply to humans.
