Colmar. Fresh blood at Bucciali

Waydelich, Mitsuo Shiraishi, Cornu, Alma and the other “members” of the Bucciali workshop have not been idle. They will obviously be present, Saturday and Sunday, during the usual open doors of the gallery after a pair of black or white years, it depends, marked by the non-holding of many fairs and shows.

There will therefore be “new Waydelich” to discover, the dashing octogenarian not intending to put his bestiary in the locker room.

Mitsuo Shiraishi, poet of the urban without humans, halos in the half-light and sizzling streetlights continues his quest for anthropogenic traces in the bluish night. His work reassures and murmurs, but questions us about our own loneliness and even about the emptiness of our busy days. Once holed up in their burrows, earthlings are nothing more than sizzling lampposts …

They bring color, movement and freshness to this gray month of November

The fresh blood arrives, him, by whole wagons with new artists like the sculptor Robert Schad, well known in Burgundy and Franche-Comté, who will present a series of new prints. Hélène Jacqz, Christine Colin, Marie-Amélie Germain and the Uruguayan Edmundo Solari are also in the game, they bring color, movement and freshness to this gray month of November.

Something to delight lovers of not necessarily conventional art and the fascinating know-how of engravers and sharpeners. Printing demonstrations to the press will take place during these open days, as will the presentation of the new series of labels produced by Alma Bucciali for the Josmeyer estate in Wintzenheim.

In the background, the pleasure of meeting again after two years without an open house will be tangible and appreciable in a context that continues to not be easy for artists.

Doors open Saturday November 20 and Sunday November 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Bucciali gallery, 31 rue des Jardins in Colmar. Free entry – 03 89 23 81 32 – Website: www.editions-bucciali.com
