Employers: uncertainties on both sides
“The fourth round of negotiations was characterized by considerable uncertainty for both sides,” explained the managing director of the employers’ association, Wilfried Kley. He was negotiator for the employer side. “The trade unions fear that the inflation rate will rise as a result of the events in Ukraine – the employers cannot foresee when passenger numbers and income can be expected to rise again,” said Kley.
Ver.di: Not feasible at the moment
The spokesman for ver.di Nord, Frank Schichefsky, spoke of a compromise that was “not easy for either side”. Nevertheless, the union had wished for more accommodation from the employers. “But we assume that this is no longer feasible at the moment,” said the ver.di spokesman.
