“Did you just buy this without burgers?”

– About 11:30 am on the 28th, an employee asked at a fast food restaurant in Seongdong-gu, Seoul. When I went to get the side menu I ordered, I guided the store’s changed instructions. Except when ordering burgers, you can’t eat in the store.

About 10 customers in the store all ordered hamburgers. Jeong-mo (32, female), who only ordered coffee, left the store with coffee according to the staff’s guidance. One employee said, “We are thoroughly checking to see if we are ordering one menu per person, as only meals are available in the store.”

This happened as the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (middle script) extended the 2.5 step measures for social distancing in the metropolitan area until January 3 of next year, raising the level of quarantine for fast food restaurants, which were controversial for equity. At a regular briefing on the 27th, Kwon Deok-cheol, the first deputy general manager, said, “We plan to supplement some of the quarantine measures that have been suggested in the field due to the balloon effect. , Only delivery is allowed, and unmanned cafes are also prohibited from sitting in stores.”

The medium script’s action led to controversy over the range of meals allowed within the business. Currently, cafes in the metropolitan area can only be packaged and delivered regardless of business hours. Restaurants can only wrap or deliver after 9 PM. When ordering coffee, beverages, and desserts at fast food restaurants, it is now possible to only package and deliver coffee, like cafes.

A similar landscape unfolded in commercial banks. Waiting lines for quarantine increased as the number of waiting customers in branches was limited to 10 or fewer. Around 10:30 am on the 28th, a long line was lined up in front of a bank in Seo-gu, Incheon. About 10 waiters waited for their turn, distanced from the person in front. The Cheongwon police guided the next customer inside after the customer who had finished their business left the bank door. Immo (75, female), who was standing in the front row, said, “I came because there weren’t many people in the morning, but I’m waiting outside for 15 minutes because only 10 people in the store can enter.

Earlier, the Federation of Banks announced that it will strengthen social distancing within bank branches from the 28th in line with the government’s special measures to strengthen quarantine. The guidelines of the Federation of Banks include: ▶Limited to 10 customers in the waiting space of each branch. ▶A waiting line is marked at the entrance of the branch for customers who could not enter. ▶Sit down in the floor.

It was also decided to consider closing some of the counters for branches with small spaces. If 5 windows are in operation, windows 2 and 4 are closed and only counters 1, 3 and 5 are opened. However, as the situation is different for each branch, we decided to implement it flexibly. It is also planning to maintain the reduced business hours in the metropolitan area to prevent corona 19 infection. Earlier, each bank in the metropolitan area reduced its business hours from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm by one hour from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. An official from the bank said, “As the period of 2.5 steps of social distancing has been extended, we will implement the quarantine guidelines accordingly.”
