COBIN claims: Further success in mass claims – settlement in headline-grabbing case “Wienwert”

Law firm accompanied by advisory board attorney Mag. Lukas Aigner for damages for 343 victims

Vienna (OTS) After the realization of a framework comparison in a data protection case for around 2200 potentially affected (see OTS0148 January 12th, 2023) with a domestic, ATX-listed group, the non-profit platform for collective legal protection COBIN claims reported another successful completion of a collection campaign. In the “Wienwert” case, the law firm of Advisory Board member Attorney Mag. Lukas Aigner was able to negotiate an initial settlement for 343 affected investors. To date, a total of around €2.8 million has been paid out to the injured parties.

The real estate group “Wienwert”, which used to be traded as a “Viennese old building specialist”, slipped into insolvency in 2018, and a wide variety of companies are affected. The matter developed into a white-collar crime, and the public prosecutor’s office is still investigating in different directions.

Around 500 investors contacted COBIN claims. The largest group of victims in this cause had gathered behind the association. A first part of them is now receiving compensation from the recently implemented settlement. All claims have not yet been settled and various court proceedings regarding investor claims are still pending. Therefore, there is a very good chance that the injured party will recover further amounts in the future.

Since the non-profit association has now proven its function in the field of collective legal protection for more than 2500 Austrians affected by mass claims, COBIN claims once again demands that it, in accordance with the dbzgl. EU Directive 2023 the new EU representative action legitimacy is granted.
