Classicbid Presents Timeless Automobile Classics at Retro Classics Bavaria 2023

Classicbid is strengthening its presence at Retro Classics Bavaria 2023 in Nuremberg. The Auktion & Markt AG division will be presenting timeless automobile classics in an even larger area from December 8th to 10th. This year’s Classicbid trade fair stand is located in Hall 3A and covers 1,500 square meters at location 3A-A30. A selection of more than 30 vehicles as well as numerous automobilia will be presented there. The Classicbid auction, which has already become a tradition, will take place on December 9th from 3 p.m. at the exhibition stand.

From the Studebaker Golden Hawk to the Mercedes Pagoda of the W113 series

Highlights of the auction include the Studebaker Golden Hawk, the “Golden Falcon”, which was one of the fastest cars on the road at the time in 1958. The three-stage “Flight-O-Matic” transmission converts the 275 hp. At the same time, this car is very rare with only 878 examples sold. The example up for auction is in well-maintained collector’s condition and has rarely been driven.

A representative of the original version of the Jaguar XK series, the Jaguar XK120 OTS Le Mans, also stands out from the lots. Two Le Mans races were contested with him in 1953 and 1956. The 182 hp roadster is now in very good condition thanks to a ten-year restoration, as Classicbid announced. After its racing career, the car was registered in Oakland, California, was transferred to the Netherlands and now has a German H registration.

When it comes to classics, Mercedes-Benz cannot be missed. A pagoda from the W113 series is up for auction. After its initial delivery in Europe, the car was also registered in the USA and later found its way back across the pond. The “Pagoda” from 1967 received a comprehensive restoration and a new paint job. The Porsche 911 Turbo (930) is also legendary. The example up for auction shows less than 50,000 kilometers on the clock. Painted in the original Grand Prix white, with two-tone Fuchs rims and black leather interior in good condition, the sports car from 1988 is a real eye-catcher.

The Retro Classics Bavaria in the Nuremberg Exhibition Center traditionally marks the end of the season for the local classic car scene.
