Citations and immunization records | All seniors registered before the end of the month

The province of Buenos Aires estimates that on July 31 it will have 100 percent of those registered over 18 years vaccinated, at least with one dose. There are already 37 municipalities, all rather small districts, in which the vaccination of those enrolled has already been completed and the process is now moving towards the large municipalities. More than 120,000 Buenos Aires citizens will need to be vaccinated per day, something very feasible: the vaccination system is exceeding 170,000 some days. In CABA, the application to Buenos Aires 35 to 39 years old began with everything and it is likely that on Friday the 9th the registration will open for those from 30 to 34 years old. In the worst case, it will be Tuesday the 13th. As for the second doses, it is public that it was agreed to reduce the distance to 21 days in the case of Sinopharm and 60 in the case of Oxford / AstraZeneca. For both vaccines, there are enough doses and more will come. The greatest difficulty is with the second dose of Sputnik, in which you also want to reduce the distance to 60 days. The pace will depend on the arrival of a plane this week with second doses of the Russian vaccine and, perhaps before the end of the month, with a finished game at the Richmond Laboratory, in Greater Buenos Aires. At the same time, progress is being made in the study of the combination of vaccines.

Planes

Beyond the noise produced by the mainstream media and the opposition regarding Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson, Argentina has a huge supply of doses in July, and it will also have it in August and September.

* This Sunday a new Aerolineas Argentinas flight arrives with 768,000 doses of Sinopharm.

* At the beginning of the week a cargo plane should arrive from the United States with more than a million doses of Oxford / AstraZeneca, with the active substance manufactured in Argentina, in the Garín mAbxience laboratory and finished in Albuquerque.

* Also this week a new flight will come from Russia. The promise is that 600,000 doses 2 will arrive, but the Gamaleya Institute’s vaccine production is undergoing changes, so we will have to see what the Aerolineas planes bring.

In any case, in the first four days of July, two million doses have already arrived and 15 million will come throughout the month.

Contracts

After the presidential DNU – with a text agreed with the North American laboratories and the government of Washington – progress is being made in the dialogue for the signing of contracts and then the missing authorizations from the Anmat. The only vaccine with approval is that of Pfizer, part of whose Phase 3 was made at the Military Hospital in Buenos Aires under the leadership of Argentine doctor Federico Pollack. However, the key authorization that Casa Rosada is aiming for is still missing: the use of Pfizer for minors. The forecast is to start vaccinating children only in August or September: the priority is the elderly, where the risks are, but since children are contagious, it is essential to vaccinate them.

Once the contracts were signed and with the authorizations of the Anmat, there would be, first, two million doses donated by the United States government. In the second instance, there could be a provision of doses from the Covax program of the World Health Organization and, thirdly, contracts for the purchase of the doses would be signed so that Argentina has in its portfolio almost all the vaccines available internationally.

Vaccination

The Ministry of Health of the Nation reported that this Friday the vaccination record was broken: 471,000 Argentines went through the vaccinations in a single day. It is a rate greater than one percent of the population, higher than the most intense day of vaccination in the United States.

The Buenos Aires Ministry of Health, led by Daniel Gollán and Nicolás Kreplak, issued more than a million citations for the next four days. The calculation is that before the end of the month, all Buenos Aires residents, over 18 years of age, who registered will be vaccinated: 9,600,000. The total population of the province of Buenos Aires of adults is 12,500,000, so 77 percent are registered. But every day around 40,000 people are signing up, so that by July 31 it will be over 80 percent. Then we will have to go out and convince the rest.

During the week that begins, there are Buenos Aires districts in which people over 40 years of age are mentioned primarily, but in other municipalities, citizens aged 30 to 39 and even less. There are 37 districts in which all those enrolled have already been vaccinated.

The province of Buenos Aires is applying second doses, but its strategy is to privilege those who have not yet received the first dose, to give them initial protection. The deadlines designed on Friday by the Federal Health Commission will be respected, that is to say that when the 21 days of Sinopharm or 60 of AstraZeneca are completed, the citations are made. They do not anticipate more than that. In any case, there are already numerous calls to complete the vaccination.

In CABA

In CABA, registrations between 35 and 39 years old exceeded 95,000 between Friday and Saturday. It is the vast majority of those who are missing that age, since a good part has already been vaccinated as health, security or education personnel. The Buenos Aires district is able to vaccinate about 30,000 people per day, so that the application of the first dose to all those enrolled will take a few days.

The ministry led by Fernán Quirós, however, is trying to advance the application of second doses, even if the two months of AstraZeneca have not been completed. This may delay the call for those aged 30 to 34 years, although everything indicates that it will happen this week, on Friday the 9th or, at the latest, on Tuesday the 13th. The Buenos Aires district is also sure that it has finished vaccinating all those over 18 , registered, before July 31.

There are four provinces that already vaccinate 18-year-olds, Chaco, Chubut, Jujuy and Salta. But it is a matter of weeks that the whole country will be applying doses to people of that age who signed up. In August it will be necessary to go out to look, in the neighborhoods and in the houses, the small percentage that remains unvaccinated.
