“Fewer than five patients have been infected on a unit,” a spokesperson for the facility said in an email.

It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.

The CHUM, which had so far been spared by the pandemic, has implemented numerous measures to contain the outbreak.

“We will also carry out regular screening tests on all of our employees working on this unit as well as on patients over the next 14 days,” added Lucie Dufresne, public relations officer at the CHUM.

Family visits have been suspended, except for humanitarian reasons, it was also specified.

Ms. Dufresne mentioned that a consultant specializing in infection control prevention is present on the unit at all times.
