For all movie lovers who enjoy surprises and the adrenaline of the unknown, Cinepolis has launched an innovative promotion that promises to shake up the cinematic routine: the Surprise Movie.
This innovative concept will allow viewers to buy a ticket without knowing what movie they are going to see, or even its genre, until the moment the lights go out in the theater.
When does Surprise Movie start?
The first screening of this intriguing offer will take place on April 16 at 8:00 p.m. in 10 entities in the Mexican Republic, setting a precedent in the country’s cinematographic experience.
One of the few clues that will be offered will be the film’s classification, allowing viewers to know if it is suitable for minors. This experience promises to take attendees out of their comfort zone, inviting them to explore new genres and narratives.
How will Surprise Movie work?
- Buy your ticket starting April 9 on the Cinépolis website or in the app.
- The surprise function will be held on April 16 at 8:00 PM at select resorts.
- You won’t know what movie you’ll see, not even the genre. It can be a premiere, a premiere, a film from the current billboard, a re-release or alternative content from +Que Cine.
- The only thing you will know is the rating of the movie, so you can decide if you can take minors.

The “Surprise Movie” promotion will be available at the following selected Cinépolis complexes: Cumbres Monterrey, Perisur and Fórum Buenavista in CDMX, Plaza Satélite in Naucalpan, Galerías Guadalajara, Américas Mérida, Sendero Tijuana, Gran Plaza Cancún, Angelópolis in Puebla, Paseo Villalta in Saltillo, La Victoria Latitud in Querétaro and Plaza Morelia.
What you should know before buying your ticket
- Important Rating: Before purchasing your ticket, it is crucial to check the movie’s rating. If the film is of restricted classification, access will be denied to those who do not meet the required age. In cases where the film does not yet have a classification assigned by the competent authority, it will be informed before purchase.
- Exclusion of Promotions: The “Surprise Function” cannot be combined with other promotions, discounts, or special prices. This includes, but is not limited to, reduced price days, student or senior discounts, among others.
- Subject to Availability: Attendance is conditional on the availability of space in the theater and the classification of the film.
- Price: The price of the tickets includes VAT and is valid for purchases made through the official Cinépolis mobile app, the website, automatic ticket offices, kiosks and physical ticket offices at the cinemas.
