Chrysler presents its Airflow Graphite concept in New York

The CES is an opportunity for manufacturers to present their technological advances and their new products. Offered in a hybrid formula this year, the show has made a large place for electric mobility.

On this occasion, Chrysler presented its Airflow concept, intended to show the guideline of the manufacturer both from a stylistic and technological point of view for the electrification of its range. This concept embeds many connected services (such as a video chat) in a cockpit where screens are kings (8 including an imposing central).

This concept also promises level 3 autonomous driving (on a scale of 1 to 5, 5 being a 100% autonomous vehicle), which will therefore require increased vigilance in the manner of Tesla’s Autopilot which oscillates according to the criteria between the level 2 and 3.

What changes in this Graphite version

The concern of the CES is that it is complicated for the general public to actually see these innovations. Suddenly, for the 2022 New York Auto Show, Chrysler is presenting a slightly reworked version of its concept, the Airflow Graphite.

As its name suggests, the white paint gives way to a Galaxy Black paint with coppery notes in various places and the lower part of the cabin swaps its white color for a warmer gray.

The grille also seems to have been slightly reworked, but for the rest, no big noticeable change. Planned with 2 electric motors of 201 horsepower, the vehicle nevertheless has the capacity to accommodate a more powerful block. The announced range is 400 miles, or just over 640 km.

Given the concept’s close proximity to production vehicles, it’s a safe bet that many of the featured items should be coming to production vehicles in the near future. Chrysler is expected to introduce its first electric vehicle in 2025 before going 100% electric in 2028.
