Municipality wants Ukrainian refugees to leave with a penalty | Inland

Forty refugees now live on the site, according to lawyer for the initiators Erhard Koekoek. They stay in mobile homes that have been set up especially for them by a group of private individuals, on the property of one of them. The group applied for a permit from the municipality, which then demanded that the camp be removed until a decision was made on the permit.

The municipality wanted the camp to be cleared within two days and has imposed a cease and desist order. The group then went to court, who suspended the measure, according to the lawyer, among other things because the two-day period to clean up the camp was seen as unrealistic. A few days after the verdict, the refugees started using the mobile homes.

On Tuesday, the judge will consider whether the suspension will remain in place or whether it will be lifted. It is also possible that the suspension is partly lifted and that the camp has to be gone in a few weeks, for example.
