Chronqiue: Clint Capela: “New start” – Sports News: Basketball

I am currently in an unusual situation. Rather, judge. It has been almost a month since I transferred to the Atlanta Hawks. Injured at the foot, I have to look after myself and be patient. Just before the break dedicated to the All-Star Game, I was able to attend a meeting of my new teammates. It was really a nice time to be on the bench with them and to gradually integrate into this new team.

I know my role will be different with the Hawks. In Houston, I was still the youngest among the major players. With Atlanta, it will not be the same. I am expected to be heard. Let me give my opinion. In short, let me be a leader by word and deed. At 25, I will be one of the oldest and will probably need a little time to adapt to this new role. But in the Swiss team, it is ultimately this status that I have when I am lucky enough to be able to participate.

For the moment, I have to think about my rehabilitation. I started working with the staff of my new team. But we have just experienced a cut. It’s important to be able to count on these few days to recharge the batteries at the heart of a season where everything is connected very quickly. Cutting out this routine is nice, since it’s been October since the season started. For my part, I manage to disconnect. Even for such a small period. It’s even a big cut. I felt it really did me good. I went on vacation with friends. Seeing something else is precious to get back in a good mood. And this return to everyday life, for me, is special. It is synonymous with new life.

The few days I spent in Atlanta allowed me to kindly explore this big city. To create a rhythm of life different from that which I had in Houston. The change was brutal because from one minute to the next you find yourself sent hundreds of miles from where you have lived for many years. But I take it as a challenge. As an opportunity to progress. But before that, I’m going to focus on my health to get back in great shape and show the Hawks fans what I can bring to this team.
