CelebritiesWhile Britney Spears (39) is on vacation in Hawaii, Christina Aguilera (40) has expressed her support for the singer. In a series of tweets, Christina responded to statements Britney made in court last week.

“For the past few days I’ve been thinking about Britney and everything she’s going through. It is unacceptable that a woman, or human being, who wants to be in control of their own destiny, should not be allowed to live the way she wants,” Christina wrote alongside a photo of her and Britney together. Christina finds it unacceptable that Britney is not allowed to have a child, while she actually would like to. According to her, every person should have the right to make decisions about their own body.

Christina also refers to her former friendship with Britney in her posts. The two were former members of ‘The All-New Mickey Mouse Club’. Rumors of rivalry as their careers took off have always denied both singers. “If we had social media back then, we probably would have made a song together and promoted it hard,” Aguilera added, noting that she wants to record a song with Spears one day.

“She deserves all the freedom to live a happy life,” Christina wrote. “My heart goes out to Britney. She deserves all the TRUE love and support in the world.” Mariah Carey, Halsey and ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake, among others, have already expressed their support for Britney.
Britney said for the first time in public last Wednesday that she wants to get rid of her father Jamie’s rule. During a hearing, the singer told the judge, among other things, that she feels “a slave” to her father. The singer also announced that she wanted to complain to her family, without naming names. “The people who did this to me shouldn’t get away with this,” Britney said.

The 39-year-old singer has been under the supervision of her father since 2008 due to a mental breakdown. That means Jamie Spears has been responsible for all of her business and personal decisions ever since.
