Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Delta variant of Covid-19 seems to be spreading more and more in China. This made the country lock up three cities, as reported AFP Friday (29/10/2021).
After locking down the city of Eijin in Inner Mongolia Province and Lanzhou in Ghansu Province, Thursday (10/28/2021), China locked down the city of Heihe in Heilongjiang Province. Some 1.6 million people have been ordered to stay at home and banned from traveling except urgently in the region that borders Russia.
In addition, city officials have also started testing all residents and tracing close contacts of infected patients. Bus and taxi services have been suspended and vehicles are not allowed to leave the city.
China alone yesterday reported 23 new domestic cases. This was about less than half of the previous day’s number.
Quotes WorldometersThis addition brings the cumulative total of cases in China to 96,938 cases, accompanied by 4,636 deaths. The latest case first emerged on October 17 from a tour group and spread to 11 provinces.
During the week of cases, nearly 200 people were declared infected. The spread also occurred in Beijing and forced the capital to temporarily close housing and test 35,000 residents.
China is a world country that still applies a “zero case” policy. Very strict movement restrictions will be applied if Covid-19 is found.
