China’s AI Technology Developments Shrink US Counterintelligence Centers

WASHINGTON – The officials United States of America (US) worried about progress China in artificial intelligence (AI) and other technologies. They said this could give China a military advantage and health care.

Acting Director of the Center for Counter Intelligence and National Security Michael Orlando said the US should not lose to China in several key areas, such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, biotechnology, semiconductors and autonomous systems.

The agency gave a rare briefing on Thursday, warning business executives, academics and government officials about the risks of accepting Chinese expertise and investment.

National security agencies made aggressive pushes against China under the rule of President Joe Biden, while simultaneously working to ease tensions with the country and find a meeting point in social issues of trade and climate trade.

The counterintelligence center seeks to encourage efforts to control intellectual property rights and implement security measures and does not intend to tell officials to reject Chinese investment.

Beijing has repeatedly accused Washington of spreading fear about its intentions and of attacking US intelligence for its assessment of China, including accusations that Chinese leaders have withheld important information about the coronavirus pandemic.

Under President Xi Jinping, the Chinese government has stated its goal of creating profitable technologies in robotics and other fields in a plan known as “Made in China 2025.”

The US Justice Department has in recent years laid several indictments accusing China of stealing sensitive US information, including vaccine research and autonomous vehicle technology.
