The children’s book The Gorgels by comedian Jochem Myjer is being made into a film, according to a report by the Film fund. The new youth film will receive a contribution for the development phase.
Anna van der Heide, previously the youth films Brammetje Baas and Master Frog directs The Gorgels in itself. The screenplay is written by Tamara Bos. She previously worked on youth films such as Minoes, Dolfje Werewolf and Brammetje Baas.
The Gorgels is about a boy who feels misunderstood by his family, but is in contact with Gorgels. Those little creatures protect children in their sleep. But Melle’s ‘watchman’ is injured and so the boy has to save him.
Also new film for creators new Kids
In addition to the filming of The Gorgels there is also a new movie new Kidscreators Steffen Haars and Flip van der Kuil in the making. The comedy Krazy House, about a religious family man who has to get a Russian gang out of his house, received a realization contribution of 650,000 euros from the Film Fund.
Also Gooische Women-maker Will Koopman has received a contribution. Her remake of the Italian hit comedy Perfetti sconosciuti gets the title Everything on the Table. The film is about a group of friends who decide to put their phones open and exposed on the table during a dinner.
