Chief of Police: Djoko Tjandra Is Really Sly and Very Clever Page all

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.comPolice chief General Idham Azis | tells the process of arrest of convicted cases of transfer of claim rights (assignment) Bank Bali, Djoko Tjandra, on Thursday (7/30/2020).

“We then carried out the order. We formed a small team because the information concerned was in Malaysia,” Idham said in a press statement on Friday (7/31/2020).

After the team was formed, it immediately sent a letter to the Malaysian police.

The letter contains a request for cooperation police to police to arrest Djoko Tjandra who was then detected in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Then on Thursday (7/30/2020), the Head of the Police Criminal Investigation Unit Listyo Police Sigit Prabowo left for Malaysia to lead the arrest process. National Police Chief of Police Propam Inspector General Sigit also accompanied.

“Djoko Tjandra is indeed crafty and very smart. He often moves places. But, Alhamdulillah thanks to the patience and hard work of the Djoko Tjandra team successfully secured, “said Idham.

According to Idham, the arrest of Djoko Tjandra was a commitment by the National Police to answer public doubts.

He said the legal process of Djoko Tjandra would continue to be guarded openly and transparently and would not be covered up. This means that anyone involved in Djoko’s escape will be legally processed.

“This is our commitment once again. We will be transparent, objective, to thoroughly investigate what happened,” said the former Metro Jaya Police Chief.

Earlier, Police Kabareskrim Police Commissioner General Listyo Sigit Prabowo revealed the convicted Bank Bali claim rights case, Djoko Tjandra was arrested while in the apartment.

Reporting from Tribunnews.com, Friday (7/31/2020), the apartment in question is a private property of Djoko Tjandra in Malaysia.

Listyo, who directly led the 11-year-old fugitive arrest operation, said, when traced where the fugitive corruption was in one of the apartments.

“While in the apartment concerned,” Listyo said on Friday.

Djoko Tjandra’s case began when the Director of PT Era Giat Prima was charged with multiple layers of charges by the Public Prosecutor (Prosecutor) Ridwan Moekiat, as reported by Kompas Daily, February 24, 2000.

In the primary indictment, Djoko was charged with committing a criminal act of corruption in connection with the disbursement of Bank Bali bills through assignment which cost the country Rp 940 billion.

However, the South Jakarta District Court Panel of Judges chaired by R Soenarto decided not to accept the prosecutor’s indictment.

Then, in October 2008 the Prosecutor’s Office submitted a PK to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court accepted and declared Djoko Tjandra guilty.

Djoko was sentenced to two years in prison and had to pay a fine of Rp. 15 million and his money at Bank Bali in the amount of Rp. 546 billion was confiscated for the state.

The day before the Supreme Court ruling in June 2009, Djoko allegedly fled leaving Indonesia by chartered plane from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

Djoko Tjandra was later found to have moved citizenship to Papua New Guinea in June 2012. However, the transfer of citizenship status was invalid because Djoko still had legal problems in Indonesia.

News Djoko Tjandra came to the fore again after he attempted to conduct a Review (PK) around June – July 2020 to the South Jakarta District Court. In fact, Djoko is known to have been in Indonesia.

He had made an electronic ID card and passport so he could register PK to court. After that, Djoko left Indonesia. Finally, he is known to be in Malaysia.
