According to David Ornstein in The Athletic, Chelsea are close to winning Ben Chilwell.
The 23-year-old left-back has long been linked to a move from Leicester City to Chelsea. Everything indicates that it will soon become a fact.
Ornstein reports that Chelsea are close to reaching an agreement with the “Lis” on a Chilwell transfer for € 50-55 million. The Blues would probably get it earlier, but they had to think about spending that money on an Englishman. The media mentioned other candidates to strengthen the Londoners’ left defense, but the club hardly thought about other options.
Chilwell is a pupil of Leicester. He has played 123 matches in his first team so far, noting four hits and 12 assists. Last season, he played 27 times in the Premier League.
As a reminder, Chelsea signed Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner this summer.
