Chechen commander calls Kadyrov a traitor that Putin bought

KIEV – Sheikh Mansur, battalion commander Chechnya Sheikh Mansur – one of two Chechen battalions fighting alongside Ukraine – said the head of the Chechen republic, Ramzan Kadyrov was a traitor bought by the President Russia Vladimir Putin .

Kadyrov has been actively involved in the Ukraine war, sending troops to fight alongside Russia against Ukraine. However, there are reports of some Chechens who fought alongside Ukraine on the battlefield, taking a stand against Russia.

“Unfortunately, Kadyrov is a traitor, and of course if you asked us about it, we would never allow someone like Kadyrov to represent the Chechen people,” he said.

“We are open-minded, freedom-loving people, and we provide help to anyone in need. We will never say that we are soldiers or slaves of anyone.”

According to Sheikh Mansur, the battalion has been present in Ukraine since 2014, when the war began. He also revealed that they were invited by Ukrainian troops to fight against Russia but did so under their own national flag Ichkeria.

“Of course, we coordinate all our actions with the Ukrainian Forces as we fight together against a common enemy, common evil,” he said.

Ukrainian forces have provided the battalion with the weapons needed to counter Russian attacks in the war-torn country.
