Chandy Oommen Sworn in as MLA of Puthupally | Thiruvananthapuram Updates

Thiruvananthapuram: Chandy Oommen, who won the by-election, was sworn in as MLA of Puthupally. Chandi Oommen took oath in the name of God after the question and answer session at 10 am on Monday. Mariamma Oommen and her daughter Maria Oommen witnessed the ceremony. Senior Congress leader V.M. Sudhiran also arrived.

The oath was taken after first shaking hands with the Leader of the Opposition and then the Chief Minister. After signing the membership register, he reached Diaz and shook hands with the Speaker and the top ministers including the Chief Minister.

Later, he addressed the Leader of the Opposition and other party leaders. After visiting the Atukal Temple and the Palayam Church in the morning, P.C. Chandy Oommen reached the House with Vishnu Nath MLA.

At the back of the opposition ranks, Chandy Oommen’s seat in the assembly is close to Thrikakkara MLA Uma Thomas. Oommen Chandy’s seat in the assembly was earlier held by LJD MLA K.P. was given to Mohan.
