This season the games will consist of only two eight-team groups. Each of the two best clubs will advance to the LM quarterfinal, and teams from positions 3-6 will compete in the 1/8 final. Among the participants we will see one Polish team – PGE Kielce national champion.
Handball players from the capital of the Świętokrzyskie Province were drawn from the second basket. Talant Dujszebayev’s charges were randomly drawn from him and went to group A, which previously included HC Vardar 1961 Skopje (Northern Macedonia), Paris Saint-Germain (France) and FC Porto Sofarma (Portugal).
In the further part of the draw, four more teams joined the teams – from the third and fourth basket. First, the competitors of PGE Kielce were MOL-Pick Szeged (Hungary) and Mieszkow Brest (Belarus), followed by SG Flensburg-Handewitt (Germany) and Elverum Handball (Norway).
Group B will face FC Barcelona (Spain), Telekom Veszprem (Hungary), THW Kiel (Germany), Aalborg Handbold (Denmark), HBC Nantes (France), Motor Zaporozhye (Ukraine), Celje Pivovarna Lasko (Slovenia), as also PPD Zagreb (Croatia).
