Chelsea staring at the heavy start in Premier League 2021/2022. In addition to facing tough opponents, there are other questions that haunt The Blues.
Chelsea are looking forward to a very complicated first six weeks in the 2021/2022 Premier League. It’s okay, they have to face Arsenal, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City after opening the season with Crystal Palace.
The problem is not just tough opponents. Chelsea is expected to start the season with less than ideal conditions than some of his best players.
As is known, a number of players will join the club’s pre-season later because they appear at Euro 2020. That includes two key players, Jorginho and Mason Mount, which appeared in the final.
So Chelsea will have to start imagining going through those tough first weeks without these two players, or maybe playing in unfit form.
“Chelsea facing a nightmare start and their first six matches were immediately decisive. They have a tough schedule and it will be even worse because so many players won’t be back in time after the Euros to be fully fit to play,” said former Arsenal player Paul Merson, who is now an analyst.
“Good luck to any team that has had to go long without key figures like Jorginho and Mason Mount. These two players have gone further than most (Chelsea) players at the Euros because England and Italy reached the final, and they are Chelsea’s most important players.”
“But this club has 16 players who missed the start of pre-season because they are still on holiday after playing in the tournament. And even if some are back now, they won’t be fit to start the first few games.” Starsport quoted Metro.
