Celine Dion surprises at Grammy Awards despite Stiff Man Syndrome diagnosis

Dion, who was diagnosed in 2022 with stiff man syndrome, which causes muscle stiffness and spasms, presented the award for Album of the Year.

Dion received a standing ovation when she came out on stage.

She said: “When I say I’m happy to be here, I really mean it.”

“Those who have been blessed enough to be here at the Grammy Awards should never take for granted the immense love and joy that music brings to our lives and to people around the world,” said Dion.

Dion’s participation in the “Grammy” ceremony was a surprise to many, as the singer’s name was not announced among the participants.

Last December, Dion’s sister publicly admitted that the famous singer “doesn’t control her muscles”.

Stiff Man Syndrome is a condition that causes “progressive muscle stiffness and painful spasms triggered by environmental factors such as “rapid movements, changes in weather, or unexpected loud noises.”

This disease is considered rare and affects only one person in a million.
