The eldest daughter of rejoneador Rafael Peralta and Mamer Revuelta has earned her place in the world of flamenco fashion on her own merits.

Its collections always arouse great interest due to the waste of creativity, color and the many famous faces that support it. Friends and users of her clothes who have traveled around the world are, among others, the actress Inés Sastre, Eugenia Martínez de Irujo and Sofía Palazuelo, Duchess of Húescar, married to Eugenia’s nephew, Fernando, and future Duchess of Alba. Sees it. I have presented 10 models in a virtual parade in the gardens of the Alfonso XIII hotel that are part of last year’s collection ‘Cinnamon and fire’, And the truth is that even then I made a very high investment because we had high expectations. In January we presented ourselves, in February we sold a lot, and in March they confined us and all the festivals and fairs in Spain were suspended ”.

Reinventing yourself in times of crisis

Despite this, Rocío was undaunted. She has been a professional designer for ten years and also has a store in Seville: “I have decided to take this stage as a business opportunity. In the month of April I will present another project, a new company, with a well-known partner and in which we will dedicate ourselves to another sector also related to fashion. But I still can’t advance anything ”.

He infects the illusion when he speaks. She, who is an icon among the new generations, mother of a large family, a woman with simple habits, a hard worker and with great relationships in high society that have earned her the nickname of ‘the favorite designer of the jet’, take it naturally: “Everyone likes to be valued for their work, but the public that acquires my suits and my designs is of all kinds, and I also like that a lot. Obviously there are women that I consider very elegant, like Sofía Palazuelo, and that they wear my suits pleases me ”.

He met the Duchess of Huéscar when she was still a public unknown. They were some common friends who introduced them and between the two immediately there was a current of sympathy and understanding: “She is a woman with a barbarian style who knows very well what he wants. When he came to see me, he was clear about everything, although later, with regard to the shawl or the flowers and accessories, he allowed himself to be advised ”.

Flamenco dreams

His most original idea in these times has been to start designing pajamas with the same fabrics that he has made his flamenco dresses. In their shop windows, on Méndez Núñez street in the center of Seville, they wear these original clothes that sell out quickly: “Now I have focused on accessories, embroidered linen coats, mobile phone cases and even masks. At the beginning, we worked manufacturing masks in solidarity and later we took out a collection to sell. I have never considered closing but looking for alternatives, and the idea of pajamas has given me great joy because they sold out quickly. It was a way to show the support of the public and to receive their affection, so also pajamas are part of my clothes “.

Mother of three children, 12-year-old Cayetano, 10-year-old Beltrán, and 6-year-old Rafael, has taken advantage of these last months to enjoy them more: “They are at great ages where we can make many plans together, so, having more time due to working conditions, the best thing I have done is enjoy it with my children ”.
