Celebration of Days of Education for Democratic Culture in Serbian Schools

For the seventh year in a row, project schools in Serbia are celebrating Democratic Culture Education Days. This unique event was set up during the first phase of the Horizontal Facility program within the framework of the action “Promoting a culture of democracy at school” in Serbia and is now maintained within the framework of the “Quality education for all” action. With the active participation of 36 mentor schoolsthe celebrations took place across a wide range of activities, bringing together pupils, local communities, parents and other local schools.

The objective of this day is to highlight the importance of promoting a democratic school culture. The lasting nature of this event underlines the unwavering commitment to the ideals of democracy in Serbian education. Since their creation, the Democratic Culture Education Days have become an important annual milestone, symbolizing the collective commitment to a democratic school culture.

Each mentor school is proud to organize this event and invite the media, the local community, parents and neighboring schools. This inclusive approach ensures that the impact of Education Days for Democratic Culture goes beyond individual educational institutions, to include the wider community.

The importance of Democratic Culture Education Days is further highlighted by the active participation of representatives from the Ministry of Education and other key educational institutes.

THE Democratic Culture Education Days demonstrate a sustained commitment to the training of a future generation who not only understand the importance of democratic values, but actively participate in their maintenance.

The “Quality Education for All” action is implemented within the framework of the joint European Union/Council of Europe program “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkiye”.
