The cup fairy tale of CD Mirandés in the Copa del Rey continues. The team, normally active on the second level of Spain, has caused a resounding surprise by eliminating Luuk de Jong’s Sevilla. The humiliation for Seville only stopped at the 3-1 score.
Sevilla started the game dramatically and was already 1-0 behind after seven minutes of play. Matheus Aias, the striker of Mirandés, gave his team the lead. He turned pretty free in the penalty area and shot the ball past a hopeless Sevilla-keeper Tomás Vaclík.
