CCR Metrô teams continue to work on the slow maintenance of the metro line

CCR Metrô teams continue to work on the maintenance of Line 2 of the Salvador and Lauro de Freitas Metro System. The extent of the damage caused by the theft of cables that occurred on Wednesday (6) caused trains to operate at reduced speed between the Imbuí and Pernambués stations.

The forecast for resolving the situation and normalizing the line is by the end of tonight (7). “The concessionaire is working with maintenance teams around the clock to repair the fiber optic cable points that were affected”, reported CCR Metrô in a note.

Between the months of January and October 2023, 340 incidents of cable theft were recorded, according to data from CCR Metrô, only 15% had an impact on train circulation (51 incidents). While in 2022, 390 incidents were recorded, to date there has been a 13% reduction in cases.

This Wednesday (6), Line 2 of the subway was operating at shorter intervals throughout the morning until the afternoon. During the day, passengers complained about the delay in arrival of trains and delays caused by the inconvenience. Line 1 was not affected and continues to operate normally.
