Cases of people in whom various thrombosis have been registered after the first AstraZeneca vaccine, are more than announced so far, reveals AP.
In the Netherlands, about one million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine have been given. A total of 150 thrombosis incidents have been reported, of which 136 are considered serious.
By mid-April, four had died after vaccination, another 42 had suffered a stroke, and 38 have pulmonary embolism. Finally, 24 have deep vein thrombosis.
Another 63 cases were reported, 9 of which were a rare combination of a low-platelet blood clot. This is an effect of the immune response to the vaccine.
In the Netherlands, AstraZeneca vaccines for people under 60 years of age were suspended last month.
