On Sunday, August 23, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection reported 53 new infections in Cartagena. In addition, 11 more people died with the disease.
With this, Cartagena reaches 19,271 confirmed cases and 508 deaths.
Seven of the fatalities in the recent 24 hours were men, six of them with cormobilities under study. The youngest was 25 years old, and the others were 40, 56, 58, 65, 68 and 98 years old respectively. Only the 68-year-old, the health authorities confirmed that in addition to SARS-CoV-2 he suffered from cancer and kidney disease.
One of the deceased women, 54, was obese; the possible underlying diseases of the other three are being studied. Those were 65, 69 and 79 years old, respectively.
