Cars on the embankment 2021: How to get to the exhibition?

The exhibition Cars on the Embankment is traditionally held on both banks of the Vltava, on the Prague embankments between the Railway and Palacký Bridge. We will advise you on how best to get to the event.

This year’s Cars on the Embankment exhibition is just around the corner, an event presenting cars from 26 brands, including a rich accompanying program, is taking place next week, between Thursday 26 August and Sunday 29 August. Visitors are slowly starting to figure out how to get to the event. And so we will advise you on arrival at the place.

The event actually takes place in the center of Prague, between the Railway and Palacký Bridge, so it will be best for both Praguers and non-Prague to arrive at the place by public transport. Parking is not reserved on the spot, in the surrounding streets are mostly blue zone, where they will park only local or low-emission cars with EL marks. However, parking spaces will generally be slow, so it is definitely more advantageous to park somewhere on the outskirts of Prague, or in the paid parking garages of nearby shopping centers Nový Smíchov or Palladium and drive to the place of public transport.

We remind you that a half-hour ticket to Prague’s public transport currently costs CZK 30, a 90-minute ticket costs CZK 40 and an all-day ticket costs CZK 120. Children under the age of 15 have free tickets, but from the age of 10 they must prove their age.

It is ideal to choose the metro, the “yellow” line B has a stop on the nearby Charles Square. You can get here by metro from both the Nový Smíchov shopping center and the Palladium shopping center without changing. If you leave the Karlovo náměstí station in the direction of Palackého náměstí (signs will guide you), you will leave the metro just a short distance from Palackého most, from where it is a floodplain a stone’s throw away.

You can get off at Palackého náměstí even if you take a tram from the Smíchov side. It is also possible to get off at the Zborovská stop in Lidická Street and walk to the Vltava. You will be close to the Smíchov embankment. You can also reach the Vltava on foot from Smíchovské nádraží, or from the Anděl stop.

Visitors coming mainly from the southern direction should then keep in mind that the Vyšehrad tunnel will be closed until Friday, August 27, through which you will not pass either by car or tram. For this reason, many tram lines are diverted from the direction of Bráník or Podolí and take a different route. However, the Výtoň stop, which is close to Rašínovo nábřeží, is open, so you can use it on the way to the exhibition.

When moving between the two banks where the exhibition takes place, then you do not have to use only bridges and your own feet. There will be a large-capacity ferry between the two parts of the exhibition, which will transport visitors free of charge. It will also be possible to choose a ferry from Prague Venice for CZK 20.

And what can you look forward to? Exhibition Cars on the embankment 2021 welcomes cars of 26 brands, now 18 cars will then celebrate their Czech premiere at the exhibition, new The Škoda Fabia will then be shown to the public even at the world premiere. As in previous years, admission is free, which also applies to the accompanying program. He will be rich, reads evening concerts by Ewa Farne, Debbi or Monkey Business, or discussions with famous celebrities. They will then be available test drives of selected cars. So everyone will really get their money’s worth.
