Care center staff threatened after Willem Engel action | Inland

The campaigner called on Facebook to call the institution that has recently been locked for the second time due to corona.

According to Mayor Mark van Stappershoef van Goirle, this led to ‘very annoying’ phone calls, he says in the Brabants Dagblad.

‘I wish you a slow, painful and lonely death and in combination with serious illnesses’, was said among other things.

A spokeswoman: “Our operators were called names and were quite upset.”

Six threat calls came in and more than double the number of emails.

Outbreak

Guldenakker closed its doors on 9 September after a corona outbreak.

Willem Engel tells the newspaper that he regrets the call. “We disapprove of all forms of violence, including verbal violence. But I do hope it sends a signal to policymakers that those ultimately responsible realize that this is the wrong policy. ”
