Capitol stormer with bison horns arrested and charged

One of the Capitol’s most prominent stormers, wearing a fur hat, blue-white-red painted face, bison horns and a spear bearing the American flag, has been arrested today. It concerns Jacob Chansley from the state of Arizona, a well-known appearance at extreme right and QAnon manifestations.

Dozens of people have been detained across the country for their role in Wednesday’s attack on the parliament building. Prosecutors have now filed 17 cases in federal court and 40 in the District of Columbia judge. Five people were killed, four attackers and an officer.

Chansley, also known as Jake Angeli and the QAnon Shaman, was captured in all kinds of photos on Wednesday at the Capitol, including in the Senate conference room, next to Vice President Pence’s chair. He must stand trial, among other things for violently gaining access to a non-public space and disrupting the affairs of the Capitol.

According to a Capitol Police officer, Chansley himself called FBI security on Thursday to confirm that he is the man in the horned fur hat. He allegedly emphasized that he was part of a group of Arizona patriots who had come to Washington DC at the request of President Trump.
