A lady from Magog, in the Eastern Townships, who suffered from prolonged symptoms of COVID-19 is now cured thanks to a healing protocol in the United States.

Valérie Côté had to put her life on hold for more than a year due to the symptoms of the long COVID. A very active woman, she had to stop working and training.
Determined to get her life back, Valérie multiplied her efforts to find a cure.
Lacking solutions in Quebec, she had no choice but to try American treatment.
This episode is now behind her. Valerie is able to run again.
“Before, I had difficulty with light, sound. I was not able to use my muscles. Now I play sports and I do a very physical job which is maderotherapy (type of massage therapy). I came back to the girl I was before,” she says.
Lack of solutions in Quebec
No drug is recognized in Quebec.
Patients who have long COVID face a low possibility of follow-up due to long delays.
To date, more than 400 patients are on the waiting list at the Center hospitalier universitaire de Sherbrooke.
While it may be tempting for long-COVID victims to turn to an alternative, it’s not a miracle cure for everyone.
“People respond differently to different treatments. Indeed, there are some that their daily life improves thanks to the treatment. But, there are others who do not improve, so it is not a panacea”, specifies the medical director of the post-COVID clinic of the CIUSSS Estrie-CHUS, Dr. Alain Piché.
The government wants to deploy about fifteen clinics in the province to treat the long COVID.
