ADFC demo for more bike safety will take place in mid-August

BerlinWith a Bicycle demonstration leading on four routes through Berlin the General German Bicycle Club (ADFC) wants to demand Tempo 30, protected and wide bicycle lanes and safe crossings in Berlin on August 15. The ADFC has registered 2000 participants for the demonstration under the motto “Cycle paths connect districts – safely on the B96 / B96a”.

The routes lead from Birkenwerder in the northwest, Schönfließ in the northeast (both in the Oberhavel district), Berlin-Adlersdof in the southeast and Berlin-Lichtenrade in the southwest through the city to the Federal Ministry of Transport. A rally is planned there in the afternoon.

“Instead of a united Berlin approach for climate-friendly bicycle mobility, the traffic turnaround in the capital is paralyzed by a ping-pong of responsibility between the thirteen Berlin actors consisting of twelve district traffic administrations and the administration at the state level”, it said in a message from the ADFC.
