Pedro Sánchez has decreed this Sunday a new state of alarm to face the second wave of COVID-19. Given the increase in cases in recent days, and the impossibility of controlling a disease that has infected more than a million people in our country, the President of the Government has announced a series of measures that could last until next May as long as it has the backing of Congress.
Among them, a curfew from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. throughout the country, which can be modulated by the autonomous communities in one hour: “The movement of people between 23:00 and 06:00 is prohibited. At those hours it is only possible to circulate for justified reasons.” As it happened last March after the confirmation of the first state of alarm, this has led many people to think about their pets and whether they will be able to go outside with them beyond the allowed time.
In which cases can I go outside during curfew?
To clear up any doubts we have to go to fifth article of the current alarm state, which has been published this Sunday in the Official State Gazette (BOE). An article that talks about the limitation of the freedom of movement of people at night and in which they collect the exceptions for which we could go out between 23:00 and 06:00 hours. In which cases can I go out on the street?
According to this document, we will be able to go out between 23:00 and 06:00 hours to purchase medicines, health products and other essential goods. Also to attend health centers, veterinary care centers for urgent reasons or to go to work. Among the rest of the scenarios contemplated by the Government we can also find others such as the return to the place of habitual residence and assistance and care for the elderly, minors, dependents, people.
Frequently asked questions: can the dog be taken out at night then? It depends on whether that is interpreted as force majeure or not, because it is not specifically included. It was also not included during the first state of alarm, but as Pdro said ????????♀️ https://t.co/YXQJHy98iu

Can I take the dog out during curfew?
To clear up any doubts regarding the possibility of taking the dog out during the curfew we have to go to section G of article 5, in which It is stated that we can go out “due to force majeure or a situation of need”. Although no allusion is made to the pet walk, we are faced with the same scenario as last March.
