Camping in Noorderwijk closes for visitors: “The crowds became a bit too much”

As of today, only permanent camping guests are still welcome at the Domein De Schuur campsite in Noorderwijk near Herentals. That writes Het Laatste Nieuws and manager Jean-Paul Kerssemeekers told Start Je Dag. In addition to the campsite, there is also a tavern, where many hikers and cyclists pass. They are certainly no longer welcome until 1 September.

It was not an easy decision: “Yes, that is a pity, because as an entrepreneur you naturally work to be as busy as possible. But we found it really too busy, especially on weekends. It became a little too much of a good thing. Then we said, let’s not do that, let’s take a month off. “

Campers are still welcome: “People understand this. Campers can therefore continue to come, although of course according to the measures that were taken earlier. There are many second-stayers, but this year also many people who come for a few days.”
