Among others VGC now reports that Infinity Ward has released an update to Call of Duty: Warzone that temporarily disables all vehicles in the game.
The move comes after players reported a vehicle-related bug that leads to a complete crash of the game and disconnection of all players on the server. The developer states Twitter that the vehicle deactivation update covers all platforms.
You can see a video that demonstrates the error at the bottom of the article.
Caused by points outside the playing area
The error that crashes the game occurs when players drive to a certain point on the map that is outside the playing area, and which triggers the “return to combat area” message – a message that usually gives the player a deadline to recover.
In this case, however, the countdown “freezes” even after the player returns to the playing area. The player can still drive around, but is trapped in the vehicle and unable to perform any other actions.
A few seconds later, the game will completely crash and throw all players off the server.
Vehicle removal changes the game’s dynamics quite drastically, and the developer has not yet said when the vehicles will return. It will probably take some technical investigation before the error can be fixed.
