GORREDIJK – Café Neys closes its doors. According to managers Ronny and Maaike, it is no longer profitable to keep their café on Hoofdstraat in Gorredijk open with the current corona measures. After more than 10 years, they closed the doors behind them for good last week.
Moreover, the operators have concluded a positive agreement with regard to the realization of the Aldi supermarket at their location. “We have therefore decided to close the café immediately. Not as we had in mind, but a big farewell party is not possible in this 1.5 meter society.”
“As soon as corona allows it, we will have a big farewell party at another location. We do this with a lot of resentment and reluctance, but due to the current situation, this is the best option for us. The future is too uncertain for the hospitality industry. our opinion is no longer workable, thinking about how we started 10 years ago. ”
