BZ and Breisgauer winemakers invite you to the online Weinkult.Breisgau – Malterdingen

After the success of the online wine barrel bar, the next wine event goes online: The Weinkult.Breisgau takes place at the beginning of December – with an exclusive wine box for home tasting.

After the extremely successful premiere of the first online wine barrel bar in Kaiserstuhl in mid-August, the first online Weinkult.Breisgau will take place on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 6 p.m. in the Huber winery in Malterdingen. The organizers are the Badische Zeitung and the Breisgauer Winzer. The program is broadcast live from the Huber winery.

Of course, a wine box with twelve good drops from twelve different companies will be offered in advance at a special price of 99 euros. This time the twelve wines come from the Breisgau.

If you want, you can order the wine box directly from the Badische Zeitung, have it sent to your home and take part in the wine tasting – for example with friends. In addition, the first online Weinkult.Breisgau cooks and makes music.

What is the occasion for the tasting?
The plan was actually to organize the second Weinkult.Breisgau in July at the Huber winery in Malterdingen with around 40 wineries from the Breisgau, which extends from the Dreisam in Freiburg to Oberschopfheim.

But then came the corona pandemic – and the plans were wasted. At the same time, almost all wine festivals and wine tastings were canceled. Trying and enjoying good wines with friends and talking shop about them is especially great fun for many people. At the first online Weinkult.Breisgau, this will be possible without violating the corona rules, as you can toast to yourself at home without any problems even from a distance of two meters.

Which wines can be tasted?
Over 20 companies from the Breisgau wanted to be part of the first online Weinkult.Breisgau. But since only twelve can take part, a lot was drawn. The well-known wineries Huber from Malterdingen, Mner-Burtsche from Kndringen, Whrle from Lahr, Shelter Winery from Kenzingen, Frey from Denzlingen, Moosmann from Buchholz, Holub from Tutschfelden, Schwrer from Schmieheim and Dreher from Emmendingen as well as the wine cooperatives Bleichheim, Oberschopfheim are there and Kenzingen-Hecklingen-Bombach. Each company has suggested three wines or sparkling wines that go well with a cozy winter evening. They were tasted together by Barbara and Julian Huber (Weingut Huber), Martin Frey (Weingut Frey) and BZ editor Gerold Zink.

The result is a wine box with twelve drops, which can be seen and also reflect the different types of rock that exist in Breisgau.

The Breisgau wine box will be stocked with two sparkling wines, four white and six red wines, depending on the season. It is also ideal as a Christmas present. After all, the range of varieties is enormous. It ranges from two sparkling wines to fresh Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc to Sptburgunders of various types and red wine blends.

Who will discuss the wines on the live broadcast?
Who better to present the sparkling wine and wines than the winemakers and cellar masters who have lovingly made them? For this reason, a representative from all twelve companies will be personally on site for the live broadcast at the Huber winery on December 5th and present the wines and sparkling wines in conversation with BZ editor Gerold Zink and other wine experts. Videos are also shown about the wineries and winegrowers’ cooperatives. Finally, a chef from the region will prepare various delicacies during the show. The “wombats” provide the music.

What’s in the wine box and where can it be ordered?
The wine box contains twelve good Breisgau drops from twelve different companies, including detailed wine descriptions. There are also recipes for the dishes that will be cooked during the show, plus a shopping list for the ingredients that are needed for them. If you want, you can cook the dishes at home that evening. The all-round carefree package for the first online Weinkult.Breisgau is sent to customers a few days before the shipment after purchase. The wine box can be purchased at a special price of 99 euros, the actual value of the wines is over 130 euros. The price applies to shipping in Germany, for Switzerland or France the shipping costs are higher. From now on and up to and including Sunday, November 22nd, the wine box can be found online at mehr.bz/wkbo-bestellen and can be ordered through all BZ branches.
