BVB: YouTube application instead of expensive transfers – Borussia Dortmund is looking for a women’s football team
From the coming 2021/2022 season, BVB should finally have a women’s football team. In order to find players for the new squad, the club is going very unusual ways.
Instead of making large transfers, the newly established “Girls and Women’s Football Department” sent an official appeal: If you would like to join the new team, please contact us.
BVB talents wanted: These are the conditions for an application to Borussia Dortmund
Condition: The players must be born in 2005 or older. In addition, they must live within a radius of no more than 35 kilometers from Dortmund. Anyone who thinks they can help BVB should first report by video.
“We welcome every ambitious player who has solid basic football training,” says BVB. “A positive attitude towards training and competitions as well as experience in football are basic requirements.”

Anyone who has ever played in a girls’ or women’s team and believes they have the necessary talent is cordially invited to apply. And who hasn’t dreamed of a transfer to BVB?
The new team will be led by an experienced and motivated team of trainers and supervisors. “It is fun and a real luxury that you can plan and design the topic of women’s football at Borussia Dortmund from scratch,” said department head Svenja Schlenker recently.

It starts off very small for BVB, expensive transfers are nil: in the district league they start. Of course, it shouldn’t stay that way. A screening day for talents was originally planned. This falls into the water because of the Corona regulations.
Borussia Dortmund has therefore opted for the variant via application video. And this is how it works: First of all, BVB asks applicants to introduce themselves briefly with their résumés in the video.

Then special exercises should be imitated from a demo video. According to the club, the exercises are primarily exercises and games with the ball.
The finished video is then uploaded to YouTube, and interested players send BVB the corresponding link using an application form. You can apply from now until June 6, 2021. Women who have always dreamed of a transfer to Borussia Dortmund now have a unique opportunity.
